Skin Care Benefits of Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera Plant and Gel

The skin care benefits of aloe vera gel have impressively stood the test of time for millennia. This miracle plant has been used for centuries for its health and beauty benefits. Two thousand years ago, Greek scientists considered aloe vera the universal panacea. Egyptians considered it "the plant of immortality". Aloe vera gel is still very popular today, and widely used in a variety of both health and skin care treatments.

Topically, aloe vera gel has excellent soothing, healing, and moisturizing properties. As we all know, aloe is a popular treatment for any kind of burn. It temporarily relieves discomfort, helps to moisturize the skin, and relieves dryness. Gently apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel to the affected area. Pulp used directly from inside the fresh plant is best. If using a commercial aloe product, be sure to choose one that contains no mineral oil, paraffin waxes, alcohol, or artificial coloring.

Aloe vera gel contains vitamins A (beta-carotene), C and E, which are antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are toxins that cause severe damage to living cells and tissues. It contains vitamin B12, folic acid, and choline. Applied topically to the skin, an enzyme contained in aloe vera gel, bradykinase, helps reduce excess inflammation.

Anti-Aging Benefits of Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera stimulates the fibroblast, which is a cell in connective tissue that produces collagen and elastin fibers. This makes the skin appear smoother and more supple. Amino acids work to soften the skin, and Zinc acts as an astringent, giving the skin pores a tighter appearance. Studies show that aloe vera improves skin integrity and visibly decreases fine lines and skin redness.

For all of these reasons, aloe vera gel is one of our favorite, most effective skin care ingredients. That's why you'll find it in most of our luxury skincare products. As always, we use high quality hand crafted, non-GMO verified, cold-pressed aloe from a trusted source.
